Remodelaholic | Grey and White Kitchen Cabinet Ideas

Whether you’re remodeling a kitchen or designing a brand new kitchen, cabinetry is a big deal. Grey and white cabinets are modern twist on a classic white kitchen, and the combination of white and grey cabinetry can work in a farmhouse kitchen or a modern kitchen, or any style in between.

One of my favorite looks right now for a kitchen is a mix of grey and white painted cabinets, so we’ve collected 40 beautiful grey and white kitchens to show some options and creative kitchen ideas. We’ve also included grey kitchens with white countertops and white kitchens with grey countertops, for several the options for a grey and white kitchen.

Grey and White Kitchen Cabinets

A two-tone kitchen cabinetry design with grey and white cabinets is a beautiful way to update an outdated kitchen! Whether you choose a dark charcoal grey or a lighter grey, mixing white upper cabinets and lower grey cabinets can work for any kitchen layout.

Orange oak cabinets make a perfectly fine kitchen look incredibly outdated, but this grey and white painted kitchen cabinet makeover turned raised panel oak cabinets into gorgeous deep gray cabinets, with white upper cabinets. See more of this kitchen and hexagon tile backsplash here.

Not sure about two tone cabinetry? Instead of painting upper and lower cabinets different colors, introduce a new color by painting the kitchen island grey instead! This modern white kitchen features a textured gray wood design on the island, with a matching painted pantry door and grey solid surface countertops to round out the grey and white kitchen color scheme.

Or, reverse the grey and white kitchen color scheme with grey wall cabinets and a white island. The white subway tile and countertops really make the light grey cabinetry and large metal pulls shine!

If you love grey and white kitchens, but want wood tones as well, try a grey wood stain like these gorgeous cabinets.

This modern grey and white kitchen is so sleek — the almost-hidden handles on the grey cabinet drawers and no hardware on the upper white cabinets enhance the clean lines and let that black range hood be the star of the kitchen.

Another grey and white kitchen with subway tile — but this stacked herringbone pattern with tile to the ceiling makes it an accent wall instead of just a backsplash!

Okay, so this is black cabinetry on the island, but the it’s close to being a very dark grey 😉 and with the soapstone counters, grey stone backsplash and white cabinets opposite, this kitchen is a great example of how to create interest in a neutral kitchen with contrast and textures.

Grey Kitchens With White Countertops

A different take on the two-tone grey and white kitchen is grey kitchen cabinetry with white countertops or tile backsplash. This kitchen uses a large grey subway tile backsplash and grey-toned wood for open shelving as well.

One way to make a big impact when painting cabinets is to also extend the cabinetry to the ceiling, like in the charcoal grey kitchen remodel featured here.

While a dark charcoal grey cabinet adds contrast and drama, these light blue-grey kitchen cabinets and range hood from the ixer Upper Chip 2.0 kitchen have my heart! (See more of our tips for recreating this look here.)

The unique ring pulls on these deep gray cabinets are stunning! The white countertops and light wall color help lighten up the space, too. To keep a dark gray kitchen from feeling heavy or dark, use a section of open shelving to visually break up the space. Of course, a large window like this to let in lots of natural light doesn’t hurt either. 😉

Okay… this is a laundry room. But the beautiful gray cabinets, wood countertops, and unique hexagon tile (picket fence shape) were just too gorgeous to leave out.

How about adding a bit of pattern with a grey tiled kitchen island like this one?

Can grey countertops get much more perfect than these grey marble countertops in a white kitchen? I think not.

A grey tile backsplash doesn’t have to be high contrast to be high impact — the subtle color differences between cabinets, backsplash, and marble countertops give this neutral white kitchen a lot of style.
