It’s that time of year again… time to turn the calendar page to a whole new year! Or rather, get a whole new calendar for a brand new year! (and scribble out last year’s date on every check I write… which thankfully isn’t many anymore!) We’ve updated our watercolor handlettered calendar for 2019, plus added a new never-expires perpetual calendar to help you remember birthdays, anniversaries, and other special annual events.

We love this pennant shaped calendar SO much! We first introduced it as a large wall sized calendar back in 2017 — click here to see how to print the large format 13×19 calendar at home, and how to make it into a boutique-style calendar, complete with perforated tear-off pages!
Then last year, the 2018 version added some beautiful watercolor designs to each month, to match our ever-popular holiday art print set (which we also just updated here) and the holiday countdown calendar prints. We also included a smaller 4×6 desktop calendar size, plus a few different ways to make the easiest desktop calendar stand EVER! (It’s also perfect for a photo display.)
This year, thanks to our sponsors at Canon, we’ve updated the calendar for 2019 AND added a new perpetual calendar version to match. What’s a perpetual calendar? It’s a list of days of each month, without the traditional weekly grid, to write birthdays, anniversaries, and other special events. Since the calendar isn’t tied to the year, you can keep the same calendar year after year as a reminder, either instead of or in addition to writing the dates on your regular dated calendar.
I love the smallest “happy birthday” gestures on my birthday — even just a card or a text message — but I am terrible at remember other people’s birthdays and special dates, and I seem to be getting worse as I get older and our lives get busier. So I’m filling in this perpetual calendar and stocking up on simple cheery notecards and birthday cards so I can jot down a quick note to deliver to friends and neighbors and especially far-away family members on their birthdays. Eventually I’d like to make a version of the desktop calendar stand to hang next to our wall calendar, but for the quick and easy version, I just clipped the 4.25×11 perpetual calendar pages in a push pin clip on my fabric-covered corkboard.
We printed these 4×6 and 8.5×11 calendars on our new Canon PIXMA TS9521C printer and, as always, the colors look amazing! We printed on matte photo paper for great quality prints and the perfect thickness for a sturdy calendar. The print-to-edge borderless printing on the TS9521C saves time on trimming the margins, too! (Click here for a short video showing how to print borderless.)
If you prefer the larger 13×19 size wall calendar, we printed that on the Canon PIXMA i8720 — being able to print large format prints at home is so nice for decorating! It’s also so convenient to have the 4×6 sized prints to print directly on 4×6 photo paper and save a few cuts while trimming — but we’re hooking you up with both the 4×6 size and the 4×6 printed 2/page on an 8.5×11 sheet so you can use whichever you prefer.
What size calendar do you like best? We use the large wall calendar in our main family organization area. My kids love having the smaller letter-sized calendar in their rooms. The desktop calendar is perfect for our office area, for a quick at-a-glance look at dates. And the new perpetual calendar lives by our large wall calendar so the kids can help remind me of upcoming birthdays!
Use the links below to download the size(s) you’d like. Each monthly calendar size includes both the colorful watercolor version and the minimalist black and white version.
